TRAINING FORMATS
Multimedia Presentations
These are large group presentations intended to introduce, give
an overview, or raise awareness of the topic.
One Day Workshops:
Generally introductory in nature, these workshops provide hands-on
guided practice with spatial technologies and give teachers a
fundamental understanding of their application to the classroom.
Multi-Day Workshops:
Usually two or three days in length, these workshops provide teachers
with a foundation for using specific spatial technologies in their
classroom. The workshop includes both guided practice in technology
use and exploration of strategies for classroom implementation.
Multi-day workshops can be held on consecutive days or spread
out over a longer period of time to allow time for assignments
or further individual practice.
One and Two Week Training Institutes
Typically held in the summer, these institutes provide teachers
with an opportunity for in-depth training, practice, and support.
Teachers learn to create their own curriculum-specific lessons
and projects.
Peer Mentoring and Coaching
This format is an excellent way to follow up and support teachers
after hands-on training. It can be incorporated into multi-day
professional development plans or initiated during the school
year following a summer training institute.
